about

The objective of every Mana Machines EP is to one-up the previous EP. These six tracks easily trump all previous Mana Machines songs. In presentation, production, performance, maturity of material, and consistency.

There was a core inspiration of Science Fiction in this EP. Two songs in particular were derived from Science Fiction writers. “Space” was inspired by the writings of Robert Heinlein. It is an ode to the Polyamorus Michael Valentine Smith from the book "Stranger in a Strange Land".

“UBIK” is a musical interpretation of Philip K. Dick's futuristic and psychedelic book of the same name.

These songs started with a series of trips to the Oregon Coast. I locked myself in an unfurnished beach-house with a small travelling studio setup. The results were the raw bones that became this set of 6 songs.
